Appleton Pre-School Program

The best Pre-School Program in Appleton, Wi

The program for three and four year olds encompasses self-help skills, decision making & the beginnings of more academic skills, which are learned through play and games.

The children continue to work in discovery centers, which include dramatic play, construction, science, math, manipulatives, toys and games, music & movement, library, writing center and creative arts. The children practice academic skills through hands-on exploration and teacher directed activities. Children are allowed many opportunities to make choices about how they use the materials and equipment and how long they want to spend exploring. Group times are child-centered, participatory sessions that include reading, music, movement, finger plays and letter of the week. Meal times are a learning experience for the children as they dine family style. They learn how to pour milk into their cup and scoop food onto their plates. The teachers sit with the children during meals and snacks to participate in pleasant conversation and model appropriate behaviors.

Two outdoor play-times per day are scheduled (weather permitting). We view the playground as an extension of our classrooms. While outside children have the opportunity to participate in group activities, play on the climber, with balls, on riding toys, etc. On inclement weather days the class will use the gymnasium.  We do have daily fitness focus times both indoors and outdoors.

Generally, the children in this group will graduate to the Pre-Kindergarten room with the class they will begin kindergarten with the following September.
